Child molester attacks prosecutor

ROSWELL, NEW MEXICO (WTVD) -- A man who had just been convicted of child molestation went after the prosecutor in a New Mexico courtroom last week.

Video of the incident released Monday shows the man charging the prosecutor as he returned to the prosecution table.

The pictures show 31-year-old Michael Cox charging at Deputy District Attorney Scot Key, shoving him to the ground, and then trying to punch him.

The attack set off a panic with people jumping out of their seats, including the judge, as deputies tackled Cox. Cox had just been found guilty of criminal sexual contact for fondling a girl.
