Man charged in 1996 Fayetteville cold case murder

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- The Fayetteville Police Department is looking for the man they say is responsible for the 1996 murder of Mark Blackmon.



Detectives said Thursday they have obtained warrants for the arrest of 36-year-old Johnny Frank Bell, Jr.



Bell's last known address was in the 1900 block of Dancy Street.



Bell is charged with first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon. The crime reportedly happened on Oct. 15, 1996, in the 200 block of Colonial Avenue.



Blackmon was shot to death, police said.
