JONES COUNTY, N.C. -- A large alligator had to be removed from a road in North Carolina, according to WCTI.

Jones County Sheriff Danny Heath recently posted several photos of the alligator to his Facebook page, according to the TV station.

Authorities said they were called to the scene at about 1:30 a.m. Friday after a driver found the alligator on a road in Pollocksville in Jones County.
