Police: Shots fired during burglary at Fuquay-Varina home

FUQUAY-VARINA (WTVD) -- Authorities in Fuquay-Varina are investigating a shooting after police say two suspects fired shots inside a home during a burglary Thursday morning.



Just after 6:30 a.m., officers were called to 316 Ginwood Ct. in the Phillips Pointe subdivision about shots being fired.



According to investigators, two men in a beige or tan sedan forced their way into the home and fired multiple shots.



Two residents were inside at the time, and one of them fired shots towards the suspects.



The suspects then fled towards their vehicle and drove off towards Judd Parkway, according to police.



No injuries were reported during the incident.



Authorities said a home on S. Phillips Point Drive was damaged by a bullet from the shooting. No one was inside that home.



The investigation is ongoing.
