FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- On Sunday night Fayetteville emergency crews responded to a call for a water rescue on the Cape Fear River.
Officials said it happened north of the Business I-95 bridge around 9:45 p.m. A 911 call was received for an overturned boat with two people on board.
The man on board was able to swim to shore and call for help. The other passenger, a female, drifted down river until she was saved by a rescue boat.
Both people were taken to the Riverside Boat Landing and checked for injuries. Neither needed to go to the hospital.
