GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WTVD) -- Four suspects were taken into custody for allegedly stealing $5,000 worth of merchandise from a home improvement store in Goldsboro on Saturday.
Police said theft happened around 6:30 p.m. at the Lowe's Home Improvement store on N. Berkeley Boulevard.
Officer P. Carcirieri saw two people running out of Lowe's pushing a shopping cart full of merchandise. The suspects met two other people and emptied their cart into a vehicle's trunk and drove away.
Carcirieri chased down the vehicle and found the four suspects and the stolen merchandise.
Police took Alexandre Regis, 20, Curtis Benjamin, 18, Shane Ali, 22, and Yudesh Rupal, 21, into custody for larceny. All four suspects are from New York.
An investigation led officers to believe similar thefts have occurred in Virginia and North Carolina. The FBI was advised that this group may be responsible for more felony larcenies.
Each person was taken before the magistrate who set a first appearance for Felonious Larceny on Monday at 9 a.m. The condition for each person's release is posting a $500,000.00 secured bond.
