5 sent to the hospital after head-on crash in Wake County

CLAYTON, N.C. (WTVD) -- Five people were taken to the hospital after a head-on crash on US-70 Business in Wake County Sunday evening.

It happened just west of Guy Road near Green Garden Lane.

Two pickup trucks collided after one of them crossed the median.

EMS told our crew on the scene that one person was taken to the trauma center at WakeMed while the others had minor injuries.

Highway Patrol is investigating. Wake County EMS, the Garner Fire Department, and the State Highway Patrol all responded.

No word yet on the identities of the victims.
