Escaped Cumberland County inmate who fled from a Greene County prison captured in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, N,C. (WTVD) -- Authorities have found an escaped Cumberland County inmate who fled from Greene Correctional Institution, a minimum security prison in Greene County.

Members of the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force captured escaped 41-year-old Jeffrey Olds Wednesday evening at the Coliseum Inn in Fayetteville.

The arrest happened shortly after 6:30 p.m.

Tips from the public helped lead to Olds' capture.

Olds was taken to Central Prison in Raleigh where he will face new charges for escape from prison.

The Task Force also arrested Timothy Cooke, 34, who has been charged with aiding and abetting a known fugitive.
