Garner High School to begin major renovation

GARNER, N.C. (WTVD) -- It's the beginning of the end for Garner High School as we know it.

Town and school leaders are holding a ceremony at 1 p.m. to mark the start of a major renovation project. Most of the 48-year-old building is being torn down and rebuilt from the ground up.

In August, students will move to the brand new South Garner High School.

A rejuvenated Garner High School reopens in August 2018.
