Police: Teen shoots BB gun into bus full of students in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE -- Police said a 17-year-old fired a BB gun into a school bus Tuesday morning carrying 48 elementary school students while on Dion Avenue, near Independence Boulevard in east Charlotte.

WSOC reports the shot hit a window on the bus that was headed to Idlewild Elementary but it didn't break the glass.

The students were a bit shaken but everyone is safe. There are counselors at the school to discuss the incident with any of the students involved.

Police do have the teenager in custody. Officers said the teen will be charged.
