Man shot in possible home invasion robbery in Durham

DURHAM (WTVD) -- Police hope the lure of cash can help them solve a shooting.

The incident happened last Wednesday on Lodge Street in Durham.

The victim's son says his father, 69-year-old Ralph Owens, was shot in the groin after two men stormed his house and robbed him. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Investigators say three men were seen driving away from the scene in a gray van.

Police said one suspect was described as a black male with a light complexion and short hair. He was wearing a thick black coat and a black scarf around his face. A second suspect was described as a very short black male with blond dreadlocks. The third suspect was described as a black male with a dark complexion and short hair.
