Serious crash shuts down I-95 north near Smithfield

SMITHFIELD, N.C. (WTVD) -- A serious crash in Johnston County closed Interstate 95 northbound Sunday afternoon.

It happened around 4:00 p.m. near NC-210.

Lanes were re-opened less than an hour later, but the wreck caused heavy backups.
