Spring Lake murder suspect captured

SPRING LAKE, N.C. (WTVD) -- Police in Spring Lake have arrested and charged 21-year-old Darryl Frederick Brown Jr., of Fayetteville, with the murder of 30-year-old Carey Terelle McLean.

McLean was shot and killed on July 19, 2014 at approximately 1:30 a.m., in the 400-block of D Street.

Brown was also charged with shooting into an occupied property.

Brown was taken to the Cumberland County Detention Center where he was held without bond. He is the third suspect charged in McLean's homicide.

Police said the investigation is still on-going and they believe there will be additional arrest in McLean's murder.
