
HENDERSON, N.C. (WTVD) -- A Henderson man was shot and killed Sunday morning, according to the Vance County Sheriff's Office and Henderson Police Department.
Deputies and police officers responded around 2:24 a.m. to the 1800 block of South Clearview Drive following a report of a shooting victim. Upon arrival, authorities found Thelonis Devon Perry, 38, of Henderson, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Vance County EMS and first responders arrived at the scene and attempted life-saving measures, but Perry was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities.
The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation Crime Scene Unit is assisting the Vance County Sheriff's Office with the investigation.
Investigators have not released information about a suspect or what may have led to the shooting.
The investigation remains ongoing.
