81-year-old woman killed in crash involving 3 vehicles in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) -- An 81-year-old woman was killed in a crash Tuesday night on Rim Road and Rembrandt Drive in Fayetteville.

Police said officers responded to a crash on Rim Road and Rembrandt Drive just after 10:45 p.m.

Investigators said a 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt was traveling east on Rim Road when it attempted to turn and drove into the path of a GMC pickup driving westbound, resulting in a collision. As a result, investigators stated that a Nissan Altima, traveling behind the Chevrolet, hit the vehicle.

The drivers and passengers of both the Chevrolet and GMC were taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for their injuries.

The passenger in the Chevrolet Cobalt, Chong S. Holmes, 81, of Fayetteville, later died from her injuries.
