RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- North Carolina Attorney General Jeff Jackson says getting brides the wedding photos and videos they paid for remains his top priority as his office continues to pursue legal action against Raleigh-based Holly Christina Photography.
For months, ABC11 Troubleshooter Diane Wilson has heard from couples who say they paid thousands of dollars for wedding photography and videography services but never received their final products.
Some say they have been waiting more than a year for memories from one of the most important days of their lives.
"We trusted them to capture the most important day of our lives, and we've been left with nothing," bride Caroline Roach Jones previously told Wilson.
Earlier this year, Jackson's office filed a lawsuit against Holly Christina Photography. A court order required the company to deliver photos and videos owed to customers by June 11. That deadline has passed. Jackson told Wilson that his office remains in communication with the company, which recently requested an additional two weeks to comply.
"Ultimately, the big goal here is to make sure that they get their photos, that they get their memories, and they are starting to get that," Jackson said. "We don't have full compliance yet, but the wedding photography company basically said, 'Hey, we are trying, will you give us another two weeks?' And we said, in light of the fact that these brides are telling us that they have started to receive their photos, yes, we will do that."
One bride still waiting is Krista Alvarez, who got married in December. Alvarez says she repeatedly tried to contact Holly Christina Photography about her wedding photos and video but never received a response.
That changed only after Wilson contacted the company on her behalf last week. Alvarez shared an email she received from Holly Christina Photography stating, "We are preparing to send your raw wedding files on physical SD cards." The email asked her to provide a mailing address so the files could be shipped. So far, Alvarez says she has not received the SD cards or any wedding photos.
"It feels like somehow they're going to get away with having it all," Alvarez said.
Jackson said that will not happen.
"We are going to have a full lawsuit, and it is going to try to get back refunds and permanently shut down this business," Jackson said. "But the big immediate goal is making sure these brides get their memories."
While some customers have reported receiving emails from Holly Christina Photography, Wilson has not yet heard from any couples who have actually received their photos or videos recently.
Wilson has reached out to Holly Christina Photography numerous times for comment, but has not received a response.
