Candles cause fire at Raleigh home, officials say

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- A fire broke out at a Raleigh home after candles caused a back porch to go up in flames on Wednesday night, the Raleigh Fire Department said.

The fire destroyed the back of the home in the 1700 block of Center Road.

Two people were inside at the time of the fire. A bird cage with four birds inside also had to be removed.

No injuries were reported.

At least 35 firefighters responded to the fire.
