Man shot in Chapel Hill apartment breezeway, police say

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WTVD) -- A man is facing over 20 charges in connection to a Chapel Hill shooting that happened earlier this month.

On Sunday, April 5, officers with the Chapel Hill Police Department responded to a report of a shooting at 11:54 p.m. at an apartment complex in the 200 block of Westminster Drive. They found a man suffering from gunshot wounds, police said. He was taken to a hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

Investigators determined the victim was shot in a breezeway at the complex.

Jose Luis Enamorado Flores, 22, of Chatham County, was identified by authorities as the shooter. He faces 21 charges, including two counts of attempted murder, eight counts of discharging into an occupied dwelling, and one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

Enamorado Flores is being held at the Orange County Detention Center without bond. He is expected to make a first appearance in court Monday at 8:30 a.m.

This is an ongoing investigation.
