
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) -- Two Cumberland Polytechnic High School students were hit by a car on Wednesday morning while walking in a marked pedestrian crosswalk, Cumberland County Schools told ABC11.
The incident happened on the Fayetteville Technical Community College campus. Emergency responders took both students to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for evaluation. Both students have since been released.
"We're grateful they have been released and are with their families," a spokesperson for the school system said. "The school's Student Services team is available today and in the days to come to provide additional support for the students involved, as well as any students who may have witnessed the incident or the emergency response."
No other details were immediately released.
Police continue to investigate the crash.
