

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) -- A woman died after suffering a medical emergency during an altercation at a Golden Corral restaurant in Fayetteville on Thursday afternoon, police said.
Fayetteville police responded around 2:30 p.m. to the buffet restaurant at 1806 Skibo Road for a reported physical disturbance with shots fired.
A preliminary investigation indicates a physical altercation involving multiple people occurred inside the restaurant. Police said it has not been confirmed whether any shots were fired.
During the incident, a woman suffered a medical emergency unrelated to the altercation, according to police.
She was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
The Golden Corral and its parking lot remain closed as the investigation continues.
