
GARNER, N.C. (WTVD) -- When it comes to moving, unfortunately, damage can happen.
A Garner couple hired Miracle Movers of Raleigh to help with their move, and while everything initially went well, they faced delays in getting their damage claim resolved.
Skye Bush said during the move, a mover carrying dumbbells tripped and fell, causing one of the dumbbells to damage the stairs. The company took immediate responsibility.
"He emailed us the claim form and said the claim would be resolved in 60 to 90 days," Bush said.
The couple submitted this claim in October, including an estimate for repairs to the stairs and additional work to ensure consistency. However, after 90 days and several follow-ups, the issue was not resolved.
That's when the couple contacted Troubleshooter Diane Wilson, who reached out to Miracle Movers of Raleigh.
"Immediately, the next morning, I got a call at work, and they told me they apologized profusely," Theo Bush said.
Robin Bennette, the general manager of Miracle Movers of Raleigh said they understand the customers' frustrations and that the matter should have been resolved sooner. Over the past several months, the company underwent internal administrative and approval process restructuring.
To bring the matter to a close, she said a check with the approved amount will be given to the Bush family.
This is a resolution the couple says they are happy with.
"We are pleased; it took much longer than expected, but we are happy it's resolved," Theo said.
