GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WTVD) -- The Wayne County community is coming together Monday to help more than 50 of their neighbors who lost everything in a fire.
A Sunday afternoon fire in Goldsboro displaced more than 50 people, including families, at the Adair Place Apartments in the Rosewood area of Goldsboro.
Goldsboro officials say the fire has been ruled accidental by investigators.
The American Red Cross opened a temporary shelter for all displaced residents at the Bridge Church on Whitley Church Road.
American Red Cross Shelter Manager Helen Miller said they expected a few more families to stop by Monday evening.

"The American Red Cross is supplying them with three meals a day and cots to sleep on and a shoulder to lean on," she said. "And we give them resources for where they can go to get additional help."
She said the community has also come to them asking how they can help those who lost everything in the fire.
"Even locals come and say, 'Thank you for helping these people that have been devastated by this multifamily fire,'" she said.
The United Way of Wayne County is also collecting goods for those who lost everything.
