Incident that closed I-440 westbound is now a homicide investigation, Raleigh Police say

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- A "serious assault" on Sunday that closed I-440 westbound for several hours is now being investigated as a homicide, Raleigh Police said Monday.

Sunday's investigation centered on a white cargo van. RPD had an "ongoing police presence" on I-440 Westbound at Western Boulevard.

Police remained tight-lipped, but said Monday that they are seeking the public's help in finding the owner of a gray SUV/crossover-type vehicle.

Police are also looking for any camera footage from that area from 4:10 p.m. to 4:25 p.m.
