Man charged in Morrisville ICE arrest not intended target, docs show

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- The ABC11 I-Team has obtained new video of an immigration arrest in Morrisville that you'll only see here on ABC11.

This eyewitness video shows the car that authorities claim tried to ram federal agents as they attempted a traffic stop.

A chaotic scene played out in front of people around 10 a.m. at a Morrisville shopping plaza last Tuesday.

The driver, Milton Ermilo Arreaga Roblero, 23, was taken into custody and charged with assaulting a federal officer as well as other charges related to the Dec. 2 arrest near the Sangam Mart at 10300 Chapel Hill Road.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents said Roblero is unlawfully in the country.

However, federal court documents obtained by the I-Team show that Roblero was not the intended target.

Immigration agents were actually looking for the owner of the vehicle, Maynor Godinez-Mendez.

Godinez-Mendez is not in custody but has a deportation order for removal.

Immigration officials told ABC11 that this was part of a normal ICE operation and had no connection with the Border Patrol's recent Operation Charlotte's Web.
