RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- Raleigh Police are investigating a murder after a man died from a gunshot wound on Monday afternoon.
Officers responded shortly after 5:30 p.m. to a report of a shooting on Thelma Street. The man was taken to a hospital and later died, according to Raleigh police.
He was identified as 27-year-old Terrance Quarles.

On Tuesday, police said Quarles was shot during an altercation with a woman whom he knew and two other people. All three are facing charges.
Authorities said the three arrived at Quarles' home on Thelma Street and broke a window before a fight broke out in the middle of the street.
One woman, Angie Bravo, has been charged with murder. Another, Lamargaret Hockaday, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to inflict serious injury.
Jermaine Johnson was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to inflict serious injury and accessory after the fact of murder. Court documents obtained by ABC11 show Johnson is accused of helping Bravo get away from the scene after the shooting. The documents also state that Johnson returned to the scene and picked up shell casings in an effort to prevent evidence collection.
According to prosecutors, Hockaday beat Quarles with a firearm several times. Investigators say Bravo then shot Quarles.
Bravo appeared in court Tuesday and was being held without bond. Hockaday and Johnson also appeared in court.
Neighbors who spoke with ABC11 on Monday night said they were tired of the violence.

"I was in the house. Next thing you know, my wife tells me you need to go outside," said one man, who has lived in the neighborhood for 40 years. "Guy laying in the street, been shot. This is not the first shooting; this is not a second shooting. This is a third or fourth shooting.
"I asked the city to shut this down. We got to shut it down," he continued. "If you don't shut it down, more people going to get killed."
Neighbors described hearing an argument moments before the shooting. One neighbor told reporters she heard the incident and opened her front door to see Quarles lying in the middle of the street bleeding. She was visibly shaken as she described what she witnessed.
In the neighborhood where the shooting occurred, a woman who identified herself as Quarles' cousin said the family was distraught and had to identify his body earlier Tuesday.
The suspects are scheduled to return to court next month.
