Amber Alert canceled for 9-year-old, Mekiya Strickland, from Pembroke

PEMBROKE, N.C. (WTVD) -- An Amber Alert has been canceled for a missing 9-year-old girl out of Pembroke.

Mekiya Strickland was last seen with her father, 50-year-old Claude Werrell, who is wanted as part of a death investigation.

The two were said to be traveling in a 2011 blue Chevy Traverse with North Carolina plates LBL-1909.
