Shooting investigation underway near Durham Freeway and Fayetteville Street

DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) -- Police are investigating a shooting near the intersection of Durham Freeway and Fayetteville Street.

At 3:26 a.m., officers responded to a gunshot wound call and found a man who had been shot. He was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators remain on the scene to determine the circumstances of the incident.

A section of the Freeway was temporarily closed but has since reopened. Eyewitness News is on the scene, where authorities are examining a vehicle of interest parked on a median.
