Raleigh man found shot inside his apartment

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- A person was shot inside a Raleigh apartment early Sunday morning.

Raleigh police responded to a report of a shooting at River Birch and Town Center Apartments around 2 a.m.

When officers arrived, they found the victim inside the residence.

The victim was taken to WakeMed for treatment. The extent of the person's injuries was not immediately known.

Police said the suspect fled before officers arrived.

The identities of the victim and the suspect have not been released.

The investigation is ongoing.
