Details emerge from capture of man charged in Wake Co. coach's death
Sheremy Dillard's boyfriend, Rickey Harper, was arrested in Pennsylvania after initially refusing to surrender and then trying to run away.

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- ABC11 learned new details on Tuesday night about how a man accused in the killing of a beloved Wake County coach and teacher was caught in Pennsylvania.

Raleigh Police say Sheremy Dillard, a teacher and the girls basketball coach at Felton Grove High School in Apex, was found stabbed to death in her Raleigh home on Thursday afternoon after family members reported that they hadn't heard from her.

Her boyfriend, Rickey Andra Harper, was not home when officers arrived.

Detectives used Flock camera technology to develop leads and identified Harper as the suspect.

The Raleigh Police Department then tracked him to Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, where Plymouth Township police officers learned he may be at or near a Courtyard Marriott Hotel with a Chevrolet Astro van with North Carolina license plates.

They ultimately found him at Plymouth Meeting Mall in a parking lot on Friday afternoon.

Plymouth Police said officers approached Harper as he walked out of the mall to the van, but he refused to surrender, kept his hands in his pocket, and at one point yelled at officers to "shoot him" before he took off running.

He was taken into custody north of Philadelphia without injury, and he's now being held without bail at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility awaiting an extradition hearing.

Raleigh Police continue to investigate the incident.
