WAKE COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- A Wake County man says he missed out on seeing the Carolina Hurricanes play after tickets he purchased through a third-party resale website never appeared in his account.

Dennis Chaney and his wife bought two tickets to the Carolina Hurricanes vs. Philadelphia Flyers game in December through StubHub. Chaney said he paid a total of $604 for the tickets.

According to his StubHub confirmation, the tickets were supposed to be delivered through Ticketmaster Account Manager, the official ticketing platform for Carolina Hurricanes games.

However, on Dec. 14, the day of the game, Chaney said he logged into his Ticketmaster account and found no tickets.

"There were no tickets," Chaney said. "It said that the tickets had been sold or pulled from the seller."

Chaney said he immediately contacted StubHub and was repeatedly told the issue was being investigated.

"I kept getting, 'We're checking into it. We'll call you back in an hour."

Chaney says the tickets never arrived, forcing the couple to watch the game from home instead of inside the Lenovo Center.

"It was a little frustrating when we watched it because I swear somebody was sitting in those seats," he said.

Determined to recover his money, Chaney disputed the $604 charge with his credit card company. He also obtained a letter from Ticketmaster confirming that no tickets had been transferred into his Ticketmaster account for that game.

Despite the documentation, Chaney said his credit card dispute was denied multiple times.

"They denied the dispute. I re-disputed, re-disputed, re-disputed and was still getting nowhere," he said.

After months without a resolution, Chaney contacted ABC11 Troubleshooter Diane Wilson for help.

"I contacted you for some help in trying to get this resolved, and lo and behold, we got it resolved in a matter of minutes."

A representative from StubHub said it investigated the issue and located the screenshots needed to process a refund. Chaney has now received his full $604 back.

"Problem is solved," Chaney told Wilson.

StubHub thanked ABC11 for bringing the matter to its attention.
