UConn replays Elite Eight win over Duke in nonconference slate reveal
When UConnfans review the Huskies' 2026-27 nonconference schedule, they're likely focus on one game of particular note.
On Thursday, the Huskies unveiled their nonconference schedule, which consists of opponents ranging from Kiyan Anthony's Syracuse Orangein an exhibition match on Oct. 13 to a national championship rematch against Michiganon Nov. 6.
For each matchup on the UConn nonconference schedule, the program lists the history of the all-time series between the designated opponent, with the result from the last meeting in the form of a final score.
But further down the line, the Huskies listed their matchup against Dukeand went far beyond the final score and went into the moment itself -- just for that particular matchup.
In reference to UConn's Elite Eight matchup against Duke, its "last meeting" line recapped the final call of the matchup that sent the Huskies to the Final Four with a 73-72 win.
"Get it in to Boozer, back for Sarr, ahead, Boozer, that ball deflected! And stolen by Mullins! Karaban, two seconds, Mullins, tosses it up...OOHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" UConn wrote, transcribing broadcaster Ian Eagle's call.
UConn guard Braylon Mullins stole Cayden Boozer's pass and hit a 3-pointer from about 35 feet with 0.4 seconds left to put a bow on the Huskies' 19-point comeback against the Blue Devils.
The Huskies' Elite Eight win marked a form of revenge 36 years after former Duke forward Christian Laettner sank a buzzer-beater against UConn to send the Blue Devils to the Final Four.
And with UConn's trolling of Duke, fans might want to get their hands on tickets sooner rather than later.
The Elite Eight rematch will take place on Nov. 25 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, with the get-in price set at $98 as of Thursday, according to Vivid Seats. And the Blue Devils will surely be seeking revenge of their own from last season's tournament and the schedule announcement.br/]
