RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- The Wake County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man who ran from a traffic stop and crashed into another vehicle Sunday morning.

Deputies said the incident began around 10:30 a.m., when a deputy spotted a car traveling at a high rate of speed on Poole Road near Barwell Road. When the deputy attempted to pull the car over, the driver did not stop, leading to a pursuit.

Authorities said the chase continued along Poole Road to Misty River Drive, where the suspect crashed into another vehicle that was not involved in the pursuit.

After the crash, deputies said the suspect stole a second uninvolved vehicle and drove away. That vehicle has since been recovered.
