DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) -- The Durham Police Department (DPD) is looking for a driver who almost hit an officer during a traffic stop Tuesday night.
According to DPD, officers conducted a traffic stop on Crown Parkway, near Mona Lisa Drive, around 9:00 p.m. in connection with a felony domestic violence investigation. As officers approached the car, they gave the driver commands to get out of the car. That's when she put the car in drive and sped off, nearly hitting one of the officers who was approaching the car.
Officers gave chase and learned the car was involved in a crash with another driver on South Miami Boulevard. The woman ran away, and police say their K-9 was unable to track her.
Durham police say the woman they're looking for is 33-year-old Clarissa Bell.
The driver of the car Bell crashed into is expected to be okay.
The investigation is ongoing.
