MIAMI, Fla. -- A dog and several of her puppies are safe thanks to firefighters who rescued them from a burning apartment building in Florida.
The dogs were suffering from smoke inhalation when rescuers got to them.
Officials say four puppies are still missing, but they were able to revive the others.
"Seeing that they were in severe respiratory distress, our crews started using the pet masks that were on the trucks and started administering oxygen and actually starting to treat these puppies, trying to save them," says Miami Fire Captain Ignatius Carroll.
Officials say the fire may have started in the kitchen of the apartment unit.
