Raleigh City Council allows motorized scooters in bike lanes

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- The Raleigh City Council has approved authorizing a change in the traffic code to allow motorized scooters within bicycle lanes.

Riders would need to yield to pedestrians and yield when entering or crossing a public street.

Scooters would still be prohibited from sidewalks, greenway trails, and multi-use paths.

This traffic code goes into effect immediately.
