RALEIGH (WTVD) -- A Raleigh man shot by a police officer last year is now out the hospital and facing charges.

Marcel Jordan, 33, is charged with assault on a government official and other charges.

Investigator say officers shot Jordan back in December after he attacked a worker with a pair of scissors at business that offers psychological counseling. He apparently got upset with an employee after getting questioned about his behavior.

A police report revealed Jordan was standing in a hallway when officers arrived and he yelled "I'll kill you" before edging closer to them, and refusing commands to drop the scissors and get on the ground.

Before officers grabbed for their guns, they tried to tase Jordan. However, when that appeared to fail, Officer S.C. Nziuki fired her weapon hitting Jordan in the torso.

Jordan's family says he suffers from schizophrenia.
