SAN FRANCISCO (WTVD) -- One year ago Tuesday, the world lost actor and comedian Robin Williams.

The 63-year-old was found dead in his California home.

The coroner in Marin County ruled his death as suicide by hanging.

His widow said Williams was struggling with depression, anxiety and the early stages of Parkinson's disease when he died.

Actress Sarah Michelle Gellar, who played Williams' daughter in the sitcom 'The Crazy Ones' posted a picture of a Boston park bench.

It's the same bench Williams sat on in an iconic scene from the movie 'Good Will Hunting.' Geller included a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson that begins 'to laugh often and much' and ends 'this is to have succeeded'. Geller added 'you succeeded, RW.'

Williams won an Oscar for his work in the movie.

Several of his other films, including "Mrs. Doubtfire" and "Patch Adams," were also hits.
