Scotty McCreery takes cold swim because Patriots lose

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Scotty McCreery may be from North Carolina, but he's been a Patriots fan for as long as he can remember.

The Patriots say Scotty's dad is originally from New England and passed his love of the hometown teams onto his son.

But that love was tested this weekend when McCreery made a bet his Patriots would beat the Broncos to get to the Super Bowl:

But despite the loss, Scotty proved he's a man of his word:

Maybe now that the Patriots won't be in the Super Bowl, McCreery can start cheering for his home-state Panthers #KeepPounding
