RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Raleigh police have charged a man in connection with a bank robbery at a State Employees Credit Union on Monday.
The robbery happened just after 5 p.m. in the 4200 block of Louisburg Road, near Capital Boulevard.
Police said a man entered the bank, committed the robbery, and then fled on foot.
On Wednesday, police said they charged 43-year-old Jimmie Earl Godfrey with common-law robbery in connection with the incident after receiving a tip stemming from media coverage of the robbery.
Godfrey was taken into custody without incident and is currently being held at the Wake County Detention Center.
