HOPE MILLS, N.C. (WTVD) -- There's been a settlement in a lawsuit over the Hope Mills dam.
The Hope Mills Board of Commissioners accepted a $9.4 million settlement Monday evening.
The town filed suit in 2012 over the $14 million dam that failed in June 2010, just 18 months after it was built.
The town will start advertising for bids to fix the dam Tuesday.
The case was scheduled to go to trial at the end of the month.
