Durham police arrest man for January murder

DURHAM (WTVD) -- Durham police have made an arrest in connection with a January murder on Main Street.

Willie Poole, 55, of Durham, was arrested on Sunday for the murder of 30-year-old Mark Antwan Peaks.

Police found a man's body on January 6 just after 2 a.m. after getting a report of gunshots.

The report about gunshots came from the 900 block of East Main Street, and the man's body was discovered behind an apartment complex off Angier Avenue in the area of Main and South Elm Street.

Poole was arrested on Commerce Street by members of the Violent Incident Response Team.

Poole is being held without bond at the Durham County jail.
