Police in Sanford investigating double shooting involving husband, wife

SANFORD, N.C. (WTVD) -- Sanford police are calling a double shooting on early Thursday morning a domestic-related incident.

Officers responded to a home in the 600 block of Scott Avenue around 5:30 a.m. to find 31-year-old Angelica Barrios and 30-year-old Angel Sanchez inside both suffering from gunshot wounds.

Both the man and woman were airlifted to Duke Medical Center where they were last listed in critical condition.

Neighbors told ABC11 that the husband and wife have lived in the home for about a year with their three young children.

There's no word on whether the children were at home when the shootings happened.

Police have not yet revealed what led up to the shootings.
