RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Just hours after the Board of Trustees at Saint Augustine's University forced out the school's president, they announced they are rehiring a once-fired vice president.
A university spokesperson confirmed to ABC11 that Angela Haynes is back at the school in her old job as vice president of business and finance. President Dianne Boardley Suber had fired her.
Provost Connie Allen was also reinstated, after Suber put her on leave.
Those decisions were announced by Acting Executive Director Ronald Brown, who is helping to facilitate decisions until an interim president steps in.
On Friday, Suber announced she would retire as president after 14 year following financial trouble with the school.
Monday, the board of trustees announced it would speed up that process. They are working to get an interim president in as soon as possible.
