State trooper involved in shooting in Siler City

SILER CITY, N.C. (WTVD) -- A state trooper was involved in a shooting in Siler City on Monday evening.

The shooting happened in a neighborhood on Harmony Drive right off Highway 64.

A spokeswoman at the Highway Patrol did not immediately release any other details.

A white truck and a red Dodge appear to be the focus of the investigation.

The State Bureau of Investigation is also at the scene.

The Siler City Fire Department set up lights to help authorities see as the investigation is expected to stretch into the night.
