ABC11 speaks to Cuban locals, visitors about Pope visit

HAVANA (WTVD) -- ABC11 anchor Steve Daniels is in Havana, covering Pope Francis' historic visit to Cuba and the United States.

Crowds lined the streets watching the Popemobile travel through the city. Cuban president Raul Castro greeted Pope Francis as he stepped off the plane.

It's a moment people there have been anxiously awaiting, as he's the first Latin-American pope to step on Cuban soil.

Pope Francis wasted little time praising the efforts to restore diplomatic ties with the United States.

Steve spoke with a Duke University student who is studying this semester in Cuba to see what this visit means through her eyes.
