6 arrested after raid at alleged illegal Durham nightclub

DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) -- Six people were arrested after North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement agents said they uncovered an illegal nightclub operating in Durham Saturday morning.

According to the N.C. Alcohol Law Enforcement Division, agents executed a search warrant at a property on Dearborn Drive following an investigation into complaints of criminal activity linked to an unlicensed alcohol establishment.

During the search, agents said they seized five firearms, cocaine, methamphetamine, liquor and cash. Investigators said the firearms were hidden throughout the establishment.

Authorities charged six people in connection with the operation:

  • Angela Johanna Calderon Rodriguez, 29, of Durham, faces charges including trafficking cocaine, conspiracy to traffic cocaine, maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances and possessing or selling alcoholic beverages without a permit.
  • Luis Alberto Rodriguez, 22, of Durham, faces charges including trafficking cocaine, conspiracy to traffic cocaine, maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances and possessing or selling alcoholic beverages without a permit.
  • Josue Hostilio Caceres Rodriguez, 37, of Durham, is charged with possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Kevin Chanas Rios, 25, of Raleigh, is charged with possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Enrique Doscamino, 40, of Durham, is charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Cesar Guillermo Raudales-Matute, 54, of Durham, is charged with possession of cocaine.

ALE said agents seized about 4.8 ounces of cocaine and eight grams of methamphetamine during the operation.

The investigation remains ongoing, and officials said additional charges may be filed.
