RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- A scam text is targeting Duke Energy customers, falsely claiming they will be affected by a scheduled power outage.

Duke Energy confirms the text is not from them and advises customers not to click on links or download attachments in the message.

Customers should contact Duke Energy directly or check official communication channels for accurate information.
