GARNER, N.C. (WTVD) -- Garner police have released new details in a domestic dispute call that featured a man barricading himself inside a home before he was taken in custody.
It all began when an officer witnessed Nathan Tharp ram a woman with his vehicle, knocking her to the ground.
He allegedly tried to run the woman over again as officers tried to get her to safety forcing officers to fire their weapons at the vehicle.
Tharp, who wasn't hurt, then drove his vehicle into a nearby home causing extensive damage.
Police say he then forced his way inside that home where he barricaded himself.
After several hours of negotiations Tharp surrendered.
He's now facing multiple charges.
