Driver who struck sheriff's cars during chase near Knightdale charged

The chase began near Poole Road and Grasshopper Drive in Wake County.

Police in Knightdale arrest 1 person after chase

KNIGHTDALE, N.C. (WTVD) -- A man has been charged after a third chase in the Triangle on Wednesday.

This one ended on Spectrum Drive near Knightdale.

The Wake County Sheriff's Office said it started with an attempted traffic stop just after noon near Poole Road and Grasshopper Drive.

The driver did not stop and deputies followed the vehicle. The driver eventually hit two sheriff's office vehicles before being taken into custody.

On Thursday, deputies arrested and charged the driver, Jashawn Jeffreys, 20, with flee to elude arrest, assault with a deadly weapon upon governmental officers, reckless driving-wanton disregard, no operator's license, and three counts of injury to personal property, among other charges.

Jeffreys was taken to a hospital after the crash for treatment of minor injuries.
