State lawmakers talk federal funding cuts to Medicaid and SNAP programs

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- State lawmakers will discuss how federal funding cuts will impact people in North Carolina.

Joint legislative committees are set to address recent changes to Medicaid and SNAP benefits.

The federal government cut funding to both last year impacting millions of people in our state.

This all comes as the state itself has not passed a budget.

North Carolina is the only state in the country to not have a budget in place which has implications on education, healthcare and more.
